Terms of Service
Effective date: May 24, 20261. About the service
draftmend ("the Service") is a ChatGPT app that allows users to upload documents, receive AI-generated improvement suggestions, apply revisions, and export the result as DOCX or PDF. The Service is operated as a ChatGPT app under OpenAI's Apps SDK.
Access to draftmend requires an active ChatGPT subscription (Plus, Team, or Enterprise) subject to OpenAI's terms and policies.
2. Acceptable use
You may use draftmend to improve documents you have the right to edit. You agree not to:
- Upload documents that contain another person's personal information without their consent.
- Use the Service to process documents containing unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
- Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or any technical safeguards.
3. Your content
You retain all ownership rights to documents you upload. By using the Service, you grant draftmend a limited, session-scoped license to process your document content solely to provide the review, revision, and export features you request. This license ends when your session ends.
You are solely responsible for the content of documents you submit. We do not review uploaded documents for legal compliance, accuracy, or suitability for any particular purpose.
4. AI-generated suggestions
Suggestions produced by draftmend are generated by AI and are provided for informational and editorial purposes only. They do not constitute legal, professional, or expert advice of any kind.
- Review all suggestions before accepting them.
- AI suggestions may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific context.
- You are responsible for the final content of any document you export and share.
5. Export quality
draftmend exports documents in DOCX and PDF formats. Formatting, fonts, and layout are preserved on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantees about pixel-perfect fidelity, compatibility with specific software versions, or compliance with industry-specific formatting standards (e.g., ATS resume parsers, legal formatting rules).
Always review exported files before submitting them for any official purpose.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep draftmend available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time without prior notice. Features shown in promotional materials reflect the product's intended design and may not yet be fully available.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, draftmend and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any loss of data or documents.
9. OpenAI platform terms
Because draftmend runs as a ChatGPT app, your use is also governed by OpenAI's Terms of Use. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and OpenAI's terms with respect to platform-level obligations, OpenAI's terms prevail.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
